Abolishing The Death Penalty:
A Black and White Issue
Problems With Capital Punishment
The death penalty is a highly contentious topic in the United States and abroad. The US has been chastised for its policies and history regarding the death penalty, like the execution of minors and the mentally ill. The UN has issued a global moratorium on the death penalty because it violates the right to life, and many countries all over the world have abolished capital punishment for all crimes*. It has been a thoroughly researched topic, both by supporters and abolitionists alike. Compelling evidence has been produced to show that the death penalty is racially biased and that it causes great economic strain on our state and federal governments.
